reviews

"Bridget's Rainbow is a charming story full of wit and complications through the conclusion of Bridget's and Duncan's fated path. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys faery-inspired stories and also to those who appreciate a good book that can make you smile." - Chamomile, The Long and the Short of It Reviews

excerpt

"Bridget!"

Duncan woke from a sound sleep in time to see a fist coming toward his nose.

"Ow!" Pain screamed through his face as the rest of him woke up in time to feel the second blow, this one to his left eye.

Remembered stake outs gone bad flashed through his aching head as he wondered what the hell he had done. Where the hell was he?

"Dermot, you eedjit!" the woman's voice sounded familiar. "Stop!"

Duncan blearily focused on the fiery-haired vision draped in a towel and his mind instantly cleared. "Bridget, what's going on?"

A ham-sized hand in the middle of his chest stopped him from reaching for her. "Who the hell are you, and what have you done to my sister?"

Duncan wasn't given a chance to explain. The hand fisted and pulled back a second before plowing into his solar-plexus.

Gasping for breath, he could only shake his head.

"Leave off, Dermot!" Bridget warned shoving the hulk who claimed to be her brother aside.

"His name's Duncan Garvey," Bridget bit out. "He saved my life." She pressed one hand against her breast to keep the towel in place and the other to help Duncan to his feet.

"Is everything all right, Dermot—"

If Duncan thought Bridget's brother was big, the knuckle-dragger standing in the doorway to the cottage had the spit drying up in his mouth. Not good. The guy reminded him of the coked-up ex-pro football player he and his partner had had to take down.

"What have ye done to me bride?" the man demanded stalking over to Duncan, fists raised, eyes black with rage.

Bridget shoved Duncan behind her and held out her hand. Duncan knew his next breath could be his last. "He's given me a gift beyond compare."

The huge man stopped in his tracks and looked from Duncan to Bridget and back. Duncan would later swear he saw steam coming out of the man's ears a heartbeat before pain exploded in his jaw and everything went black.
