This year began with an opportunity to take on the volunteer job of PAN (published author network) Liaison for my home RWA Chapter, NJRW (New Jersey Romance Writers). I figured, why not, I have time. I'd turned in the second book in my Irish Western Series and the book was in the production phase ,and while I had already finished the third book in the series, had a few other works-in-progress, and two books currently waiting to be read by two other publishers, I didn't have any deadlines.
Now here's where Murphy comes in...you all know Murphy, right? He's the one with the law...anything that can go wrong, will go wrong and at the worst possible moment. While I didn't have anything going wrong, in fact everything was finally going right after what I now refer to as the "rejection years, it was still going...full steam ahead!
Somehow, maybe to make up for the length of time in between my first release, The Marshal's Destiny, and my current release, The Rancher's Heart, all heck broke loose.
The Dark Castle Lords, a wonderful e-book publisher, offered a contract for the first book in my Medieval Trilogy, The Lord of Merewood Keep. Check out their website at www.thedarkcastlelords.com . They publish e-books, but also have beautiful jewelry, memorabilia and so much more. Did I mention The Dark Castle Lords themselves??? You simply must stop by the website and sigh over the too-die-for handsome dark lords. Stay tuned for info about their first feature film to be released this summer...The Dark Castle Lords ~ The Movie. For more information, please visit their website.
But I guess I needed more to keep me busy (and wishing I didn't have a day job!) The Dark Castle Lords just offered contracts on books 2 and 3 of my Medieval Trilogy. The Saxon Bride, will be released on April 15th, followed by A Scot's Honor releasing on May 15th.
Ok...here's where some other good news happened. I completed the edits on The Lord of Merewood Keep and turned them in and received a great review from Natasha Smith at Romance Junkies, who gave TLMK 5 out of 5 Blue Ribbons! A first for me. ;)
While The Saxon Bride is finished, I haven't begun the edit phase yet. Now A Scot's Honor...well I've got a little time to finish yet before I have to turn it in for edits. *g*
I'm currently in the edit phase for the first book in my Regency-era Historical Trilogy, Patience, coming soon from The English Tea Rose line of The Wild Rose Press. I have synopses for books two and three of that trilogy completed and need to write them because, my editor is interested in looking at them. The Wild Rose Press is another wonderful publisher who puts out e-books and print books for all full length novels over 55,000 words. TWRP is very supportive and have an amazing website. Stop by and check them out at www.thewildrosepress.com.
AND...to top it all off, I have the third book in my Irish Western Series, Pearl's Redemption, completed and looking for a home. Book four, A Gift From Home (John Reilly's story) is a work-in-progress.
Well now that I've shared all my news to date, I've got to run...I have a few books to edit...and write!
Happy Reading!
