It seems as if I have been waiting forever for this pre-order–and the fault is totally mine! I needed a two week extension to finish writing this book back in August, pushing my delivery date to mid-September. August 4th would have been our 46th Wedding Anniversary…hard to celebrate when the other half of your heart is in Heaven.
November and December used to be my favorite months of the year with family gatherings and baking, but that changed in 1999 when we lost my dad that year on November 23rd. November 18th, 2020 forever marked the month as my least favorite month of the year because my darling Heavenly Hubby lost his battle with cancer.
You probably guessed it, I did not finish writing the final book: The Duke’s Blade, Book 16 in The Duke’s Guard Series, or turn it in on time on November 30th. This year marked year five since losing my darling and the year started off difficult and will end the same way. I realized I was not going to meet my extended deadline either. But, Aut Vincam, Aut Periam: I will either conquer or perish is my Purcell ancestors’ family motto and one I have tried to embrace for as long as I can remember. I am determined to finish the last book in this series before December 31st. Fingers crossed, because I have a new series to write in 2026: Wyndmere’s Warriors. Alas that is a blog for another day.

Happy Holidays and Happy Reading!
